BIOGRAPHY

Marie-Eve Dicaire has been implicated in the fighting sports since her youngest age.

At the age of 6, karate grabbed her attention. She will earn her black belt and become a Canadian champion before she turns 11. 18 years old, she became a karate world champion, a title she would achieve five times.

She will also earn a place on the US NASKA network with the Amerikick team.

Fifth dan black belt and owner of a dojo (Karate Sunfuki) for a few years, Dicaire then made the jump into the ring, but first in kickboxing, where she is undefeated (one win and one draw).

In amateur boxing, Dicaire has delivered around fifty fights in just over three and a half years.

She had her best year in 2013, where she won the Quebec Championship, the Canadian Championship and the Ringside tournament, in addition to a victory against the American champion in an international meeting between Canada and the United States. Boxe Quebec also awarded her the title of Athlete of the Year.

The Saint-Eustache fighter became a professional boxer on November 20, 2015 in Sorel-Tracy. She then defeated Manitoban Christina Barry by unanimous decision.

At her fourteenth fight, she became the first Quebec woman to win a world title, thanks to a superb performance against Uruguayan Chris Namus.

Three victorious defenses set her up for the ultimate unification of titles clash with world’s best pound-for-pound boxer Claressa Shields. This fight was broadcasted live on pay-per-view television in the United States, a first in twenty years!

Stripped of her world title despite a brave fight, she wasted no time regaining her place on the throne of champions. The best is yet to come.

Receiving the medal from the National Assembly in 2019 remains one of her fondest memories.

She won the IBF World Super-Welterweight belt in December 2018 and became the first Quebec champion to ever to achieve the feat.
